About

The Sandra Vivanco Diversity Scholarship supports CCA diversity students with a focus on women of color, non-binary, transgender, and DACA/Dreamer students in financial need across all divisions of the college.

Last year, generous CCA donors committed nearly $35,000 to this scholarship, and as a result, four talented students were awarded scholarships this academic year.

Equipping students with creativity, resiliency, innovation, and compassion has never been more critical to prepare the next generation of creative leaders. Gifts to Sandra Vivanco Diversity Scholarship will make a direct impact on students, sustaining them through this difficult time and inspiring them to create positive change.

Sandra Vivanco, professor in the CCA Architecture Division and Critical Ethnic Studies Program, taught at CCA for more than two decades and embodied much of what we value about our CCA community. Her lifetime of advocacy for, and support of, underserved and underrepresented communities continues to inspire us. You may visit the page dedicated to honoring Sandra's memory here.

Celebrating Sandra
In Spring of 2021 CCA hosted a memorial and lecture to celebrate the life and work of Sandra Vivanco, who passed away in 2020.

The need to do this important work continues! We must keep our commitment to supporting diverse voices in creative fields.

Gifts to the Sandra Vivanco Diversity Scholarship “will provide students with a lifeline to focus on nurturing their talent and honing their skills so that they may contribute to the cultural diversity of our society.”

-Jose Brunner, Adjunct professor of Critical Ethnic Studies

As a dedicated teacher, Sandra was a champion of excellence, equity, and diversity who embodied the values and spirit that guide our work each day at CCA and beyond. Thank you for helping to honor her work and legacy.

CCA Students Thank You

Scholarships change lives and your gift is making a difference at CCA. Thanks to generous supporters like you, over $23,000 has been raised for the CCA Sandra Vivanco Diversity Scholarship, which helps women of color, non-binary, transgender, and DACA/Dreamer students overcome financial barriers to education. And as a result, four students received the Sandra Vivanco Diversity Scholarship this spring.

We are pleased to share a message of appreciation from CCA student Anastasha Luz Aco.

Thank you again. You’ve created meaningful, lasting opportunities for talented young people.
