About

"I extend my gratitude to everyone who supports the Spiked Shoe Club through the One Herd One Day giving initiative. Your generous contributions, today and throughout the year, enable our program to flourish and offer competitive opportunities across all levels of our lineups. Furthermore, they afford us the privilege of acquiring top-notch equipment for both practice sessions and competitions held at our home meets. Your support helps to provide an incredible student-athlete experience at Bucknell. Thank you for making a difference and Go Bison!" - Head Coach Kevin Donner

Bucknell's men's and women's cross country/track and field program has a long and proud history of winning championships with record-setting performances over the last several decades. The Patriot League landscape has changed in more recent times, with the two service academies drastically increasing their track and field resources on the heels of the league's addition of a strong Boston University program. While championships have been more difficult to come by, the Bison have still seen numerous historic performances over the last few seasons. Just three years after Maura Fiamoncini placed third at the NCAA Championships and seventh at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the javelin throw in 2021, Evelyn Bliss followed in her footsteps last summer. Bliss won the gold medal at the U-20 National Championships for the second straight year, she was sixth at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, and 13th at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Also last summer, Rayven Sample competed for Team USA in his second Paralympic Games. At the Patriot League Indoor Championships at Navy, Alexandra Lea earned Rookie of the Meet honors after winning bronze medals in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. While the Bison women finished fifth out of 10 teams, the men were fourth. Wade Shomper (shot put) and Brian Scotto (60m hurdles) both won silver medals. The teams are now gearing up for the PL Outdoor Championships at Holy Cross May 2-3. Both squads fared well academically in the fall semester, with the men's squad combining for a 3.34 GPA and the women putting together an outstanding 3.51 GPA.
