Gifts to Men's Soccer contribute to...

“Your generous financial support is the cornerstone that helps us provide a memorable college soccer experience for the young men in our program. One Herd One Day is our lifeline, helping us reach our fundraising goal for the year and we extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributes. Your support of Bucknell Men's Soccer throughout the year has a profound impact on our program and we express a heartfelt 'thank you' to our alumni, parents and friends on this significant day for Bison Athletics & Recreation and our program." - Head Coach Dave Brandt
The Bucknell men’s soccer team authored one of the most spectacular turnaround seasons in the nation in 2024. After finishing in last place the year before, third-year head coach Dave Brandt’s rebuild rocketed off the charts this fall, as the Bison completed the Patriot League double with regular-season and tournament championships. Bucknell went 4-1-4 in the conference, allowing only five goals in the nine matches, and then won two thrilling home games in the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison edged American in penalty kicks in the semifinals, and then in front of a capacity crowd at Emmitt Field, they routed Colgate 3-0 in the championship contest. Only four seniors dotted this team’s roster, and fittingly two of them (Waldemar Kattrup, Nick Prime) scored goals in the final, another (Aidan Lawlor) was named Tournament MVP, and the fourth (Jack Roberto) kicked the ball high in the air in celebration as the final horn sounded. The Bison returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 10 years and dropped a hard-fought 2-1 game at No. 20 Providence in a match played in heavy rain. After the season, Freddie Lapworth was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year and Dave Brandt was picked by his peers as PL Coach of the Year. Lapworth and Lawlor both earned All-Region honors. The Bison also had a strong fall in the classroom, combining for a 3.35 team GPA. Roberto, who is the president of Bucknell’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee this year, has maintained a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in finance.
