"On behalf of the young men in our program and my coaching staff, we are deeply appreciative of the Bucknell Brotherhood, our donors and fans who believe in the Bison Basketball brand and the bond surrounding our program that unites so many Bucknellians. Today, on One Herd One Day, I encourage you to support our program with any size gift you find meaningful. We are getting this program back on track and we wouldn't be able to make such great progress without those who bleed Orange & Blue. 'ray Bucknell!" - Head Coach John Griffin III
Just two years removed from a 10th-place finish in the Patriot League, the Bucknell men’s basketball team earned a share of the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in 2025. Year No. 2 under head coach John Griffin III ’08 was special, as large spirited crowds returned to Sojka Pavilion to cheer on a Bison squad that finished the season on a tear. Led by 2025 Patriot League Player of the Year Noah Williamson and First Team All-PL guard Josh Bascoe, Bucknell closed the regular season winning six straight and nine of its last 10 to claim its 14th Patriot League regular-season title. The Bison went unbeaten at home in league play, but after holding off Loyola in an overtime thriller in the tournament quarterfinals, they were upset by a determined Navy team in the semis. Still, it was an exciting return of March basketball for a program that has been the class of the Patriot League since its inception in 1990-91. The Bison have won nearly two-thirds of their league games over that three-decade span and have captured six Patriot League Tournament titles. From 2011-19, the Bison won eight of the nine PL regular-season titles, and the team has made it to the semifinals 26 times and to the championship game 13 times in the league's first 34 years. Bucknell has also won 78 percent of its home games against Patriot League competition at Sojka Pavilion.
