Gifts to Water Polo contribute to...

"Your dedication and support mean the world to Bucknell Water Polo and our student-athletes. Your generosity is what makes a genuine Division I experience possible for these athletes at our exceptional, academically-driven university. The growth and experiences facilitated by alumni, parents and friends are shaping the future Bison ambassadors of Bucknell Water Polo. Thank you for making a lasting impact on our men's and women's programs." - Head Coach John McBride
The Bison water polo teams have traditionally ranked among the best in the East. The men's squad has made three NCAA Tournament appearances in the last eight seasons, including runs to the national quarterfinals in the fall of 2019 and spring of 2021. Those league-championship squads were led by three-time All-American Rade Joksimovic, who in 2019 was one of three finalists for the national player of the year award. This past fall, the Bison hosted the MAWPC Championship at Kinney Natatorium and suffered an agonizing 10-9 loss to Navy in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the Bison women's squad has garnered at least one Honorable Mention All-American in five of the last six seasons, including three-time honoree Ally Furano. Bucknell's second-place finish at the Eastern Championship in 2021 was its highest ever. The squad is looking to bounce back this spring after a rare down season in 2023. Bucknell continues to make an impact internationally. Junior Boati Motau represented her native South Africa in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo and is back in contention to do the same in Paris in 2024 and head coach John McBride is now an assistant coach with the U.S. Men’s National Team as they prep for the Paris Olympics.
