The Bison softball squad returned to the Patriot League Tournament last spring for the first time since 2019, and fourth-year head coach Sarah Caffrey is looking to keep her team on the ascent in 2024. Bucknell returns a solid core this spring led by Preseason All-Patriot League catcher Zoie Smith, who hit .353 and ranked in the top 20 nationally in doubles last spring. The softball team continues to be a department leader academically. The team’s 3.63 GPA in the fall 2023 semester was tied for second-highest among all Bison programs. Fifteen of the 21 women on the roster made the Dean’s List including four student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
