Bucknell has featured the Patriot League's premier program since its inception in 1990-91. The Bison have won nearly two-thirds of their league games over that three-decade span and have captured six Patriot League Tournament titles. From 2011-19, the Bison won eight of the nine PL regular-season titles, the team made it to the semifinals 25 times and to the championship game 13 times in the league's first 34 years. Bucknell has also won 77 percent of its home games against Patriot League competition at Sojka Pavilion. The 2023-24 squad has been invigorated by the return of John Griffin III ’08 as head coach. Picked ninth in the PL preseason poll, the Bison finished in a tie for second place in the regular season, defeated American in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals and dropped a three-point heartbreaker at top-seeded Colgate in the semis.
