Give the Gift of Education this Season of Giving
Each year, many high-achieving and academically meritorious students at Broward College receive an invitation to join the International Honors society, Phi Theta Kappa. Membership in Phi Theta Kappa (or PTK, as it is commonly called) opens a world of scholarship funding, mentorship, and networking possibilities for our students, expanding their horizons and future success. Membership costs $60. For some students, this fee is a barrier to unlocking the possibilities that PTK can offer them.
PTK recognizes achievement and the pursuit of academic excellence. All students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and who have completed 12 college credits or more are eligible to join PTK and one of its three Chapters at Broward College. When they become members, students participate in activities to develop their leadership and service skills and receive support to continue striving for academic excellence.
Your contribution to this fund will make it possible for Broward College to pay membership fees for those students who cannot afford it but who are so deserving of the opportunity.
Through its participation in Phi Theta Kappa, in 2020 and 2021 Broward College’s student finalists in the All-Florida Academic Team earned scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $7,000. This kind of funding opportunity shows how students can finance their post-College education thanks to membership in PTK.
