Support the Peace Scholarship at Brandeis International Business School this Giving DEISday!
“If we are to live up to our highest ideals, Brandeis University and Brandeis International Business School must strive to be a beacon of hope in times of despair,” said Alan Hassenfeld, H’20, retired chairman and CEO of Hasbro. “The Peace Scholarship Fund will allow us to open our doors to students from Ukraine who are forced to flee their homes and need a safe, welcoming place to pursue an education.”
In response to the war in Ukraine and the many other conflicts occurring in regions across the world, Brandeis International Business School is excited to offer the Peace Scholarship. The scholarship provides full tuition to new master’s degree and aims to support students who have been displaced from and forced to leave their country due to violent conflict or persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, or membership of a particular social group, or political opinion.
The first Peace Scholar, an MBA student from Ukraine, began her studies at the International Business School this semester. The School hopes to raise a total of $1 million for the Peace Scholarship which would provide funding for up to 10 students to study at Brandeis.
Alumni and friends can help us continue to increase the funds available to students who seek to continue their education in the United States despite conflict at home. As Brandeis President Ron Liebowitz has stated, “Brandeis was founded by the American Jewish Community, many of whom had either fled Europe or lost whole families in World War II. Helping those who face similar threats to their lives is something we feel a strong obligation to do.” Learn more about the Peace Scholarship.
Gifts to any fund at the International Business School will be appreciated this Giving DEISday. Thank you for your support.
