The Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership develops and sustains a nationally recognized entrepreneurial ecosystem at BGSU. Our purpose reflects a belief that entrepreneurial thinking is not limited to any major or career path. It is a mindset focused on opportunity recognition, initiative and the resilience to turn ideas into action. Through applied learning, mentorship and collaboration, we build a regional ecosystem where students and industry partners create value and drive real world impact together.
This year, more than 60 students engaged with our entrepreneurial student organization, 160 applied to The Hatch with 12 selected to participate and we delivered over 50 one-on-one entrepreneurship coaching sessions alongside monthly events designed to expose students to the entrepreneurial mindset. All of this was accomplished in the first semester of the center operating independently of any single college, signaling to the student body that we are here to support students from every major across campus.
