What a difference a decade makes.

The Office of International Programs & Partnerships is BGSU’s center for global initiatives including international student recruitment and services, Education Abroad, global partnerships and campus initiatives. This unit houses International Student Services as well as Education Abroad. Donating to IPP helps students access global learning, supports inclusion and success for international students, and builds bridges across cultures and countries through education — all of which have long-lasting educational, social, and professional impacts.

International Students Fund - BGSU’s International Student Fund directly helps talented students from around the world overcome financial barriers to pursuing their education at Bowling Green State University. Donations to an International Student Fund can be used to provide targeted scholarships and awards that help these students afford tuition, fees, and the specialized services they need to succeed academically and socially. By making education more accessible and affordable, donors enable a more diverse and globally connected campus — enriching the learning environment for all students and preparing graduates to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Scholarships and financial support made possible by gifts also send a powerful message that the BGSU community values equity, inclusion, and opportunity across cultures and borders.

An International Student’s Experience:

Danushka Madushan Kumarasinghe Walisinghe Mudiyanselage, Sri Lanka
Doctoral Student in Photochemical Sciences
"Through International Programs and Partnerships, I had the opportunity to serve as a Global Falcon Ambassador, participate in Global Falcon Fest, and engage in international student orientations and cultural events that helped me feel welcomed and connected at BGSU. These experiences not only supported my transition as an international student but also allowed me to build leadership skills, lifelong friendships, and a strong sense of belonging within the Global Falcon community."

Ilse Thomas Scholarship - The Ilse Thomas Scholarship Fund provides assistance for students studying abroad. Donating to Education Abroad means investing in experiences that truly change students’ lives. Studying abroad pushes students out of their comfort zones and into unfamiliar places where they learn independence in the most real, practical ways—navigating new cultures, solving problems on their own, and adapting to the unexpected. Your support helps make these transformative opportunities possible, ensuring more students can grow into confident, globally aware individuals ready to lead and connect across cultures.

An Education Abroad Student’s Experience:

Grace Rooney, Studied abroad on the Salzburg

"Studying abroad in Salzburg, Austria was a once-in-a-lifetime experience where I not only learned new things about different countries and cultures, but also about myself and what I’m capable of doing. This trip kickstarted my love for travel and exploring new places - a passion I intend to follow throughout my life."
