The Honors College at Bowling Green State University is home to nearly 1,000 bright, driven students who are not just excelling academically – they are shaping the future. Honors students engage in a challenging curriculum that promotes critical thinking, interdisciplinary studies and original research. They are prepared not only to be scholars, but innovators, leaders and change-makers. Honors students are recipients of prestigious awards, like the Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship, have their research published in leading journals and are recognized for their achievements across BGSU and beyond.
By supporting the Honors College, you’re not just funding education – you’re investing in the leaders of tomorrow. These students graduate with the distinction of University Honors, the highest academic recognition at BGSU and enter the world ready to make lasting contributions to the public good. Whether in business, the arts, healthcare, or science and technology, BGSU Honors graduates are the trailblazers and problem-solvers who will shape our future.
- Dr. Jodi Lambdin Devine Honors Fellows – This is a new fund that provides full Honors Learning Community fee scholarships to all student volunteers providing leadership within the community. Fellows help staff, plan and promote learning community events and assist during HLC trips. If we can raise $25,000 over the next five years, all HLC Fellows will be supported.
- M. Neil Browne Honors Student Enrichment Fund – This fund provides resources to faculty members to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for BGSU Honors students, such as attendance at theatre performances and support of invited speakers. The Honors College hopes to raise $50,000 in the next five years. That would allow Honors to fund $5000 worth of projects annually.
- The Alumni Laureate Scholarship currently covers the cost of any educational expenses up to the cost of full-time in-state undergraduate tuition, for eight uninterrupted fall and spring semesters, and includes a $1,000 book award each year. The program allows students to take part in leadership workshops, community engagement activities and meetings with university, community and alumni leaders and volunteers. The ALS program also includes cohort meetings and regular interaction with the Honors College staff and program adviser.
