Kendo

The BU Kendo Club is a team that competes in various collegiate kendo tournaments during the fall and spring semesters. In a typical year, our team competes in one major regional tournament in the fall, and three to four collegiate tournaments in the spring, including our own BUKai tournament.

Donations to our club allow us to travel to tournaments such as that at Columbia University, host BUKai, and replace kendo equipment. In particular, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased the price of kendo equipment from all suppliers. This past year, donations to our club helped us to offset the cost of equipment and allowed us to take in many new members. With a club that is now forty-plus members strong, we thank you warmly for your continued support.

Thanks to a generous challenge donor, the first $25 from each unique alumni donor will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Additionally, up to $1,000 in bonus funds will be awarded to the top three clubs with the most donors at the end of each day of the campaign.
