The Center for Latin American Studies at Boston University advances a deeper understanding of Latin America’s rich languages, cultures, and social complexities through an array of lectures, panel discussions, author readings, concerts, film screenings, seminars, and workshops. Serving as a hub for interdisciplinary research, we foster collaboration across the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Medical and Health Sciences, and have developed a visiting scholars program. We actively engage with the broader community, building strong ties with consulates and local organizations.
Central to our mission are the David Scott Palmer Research and Travel Grants, which uniquely provide essential funding to undergraduate and graduate students for original research projects conducted in Latin America.
