At a time when global economic uncertainty, inequality, and climate risk increasingly shape everyday lives, the Boston University Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center) works to ensure that development policy decisions are grounded in evidence, equity, and impact.
As one of Boston University’s 17 University-wide research centers operating under the Office of Research and in close partnership with the Pardee School of Global Studies, the GDP Center advances financial stability, human well-being, and environmental sustainability worldwide through rigorous interdisciplinary research and sustained policy engagement.
Equally central to the GDP Center’s mission is investing in students. Through programs such as Summer in the Field, students work alongside faculty and global partners on applied research projects around the world—gaining hands-on experience while contributing directly to evidence-based policy solutions. These experiential opportunities are complemented by the Center’s broader support for student researchers, fellows, and emerging scholars across BU.
Your Giving Day support sustains this integrated approach—strengthening the Center’s research initiatives, expanding transformative student experiences like Summer in the Field, and amplifying Boston University’s impact on the most pressing global development challenges of our time.
