The Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies seeks to honor the legacy of Elie Wiesel through the education of students and research in Jewish Studies, Israel Studies, and Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Studies. Generous donations allow us to fund scholarships and research trips for students, employ visiting faculty, and invite guest speakers to events for both Boston University and the wider community.
Last year, your support allowed the Elie Wiesel Center to offer 40 classes, hold 18 community events, and fund 6 undergraduate student scholarships, as well as support for graduate students. We inaugurated the Israel Studies minor and continued the Israel Studies Event Series, offering crucial spaces for nuanced, research-driven learning for both students and community members. In May 2025, the first class of majors in Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Studies graduated. As we look ahead, we are grateful for the continued support that allows the Elie Wiesel Center to offer the compassionate and accurate scholarship that our current times demand.
