Doug Barth, Class of 1991, is both a proud Baker alumnus and the University’s Director of Alumni Relations and his message for Baker Day of Giving is simple: participation matters.

With this year’s theme, Be Bold BU, Doug reminds alumni that it’s not about how much you give, it’s about showing up. Every gift, no matter the size, helps make the day meaningful and supports Baker students.

Doug is choosing to give back to the Baker art department, honoring the professors who influenced his journey as an artist and continue to impact his work and life today. Through alumni relations, he’s also seen firsthand how powerful the Baker community can be across generations.

Andrew Miller, Class of 2016, has experienced Baker University throughout his academic and professional journey. As an undergraduate studying biology and secondary education, he discovered his passion for education. He earned his master’s in school administration in 2024 and is now pursuing doctoral studies in PK–12 leadership at Baker.


Faculty and mentors prepared him not just for a career but for a life of service and leadership. For Andrew, Baker Day of Giving is about gratitude. Every gift, big or small, is a way to say thank you and help future students learn, grow, and lead. Be Bold BU!
