Food Lab & Supply Fund

The Campus Kitchen at Augsburg University works to build community through food and make healthy food accessible in and around the Cedar Riverside Neighborhood and on Augsburg’s campus. For more information about our program, check out our website!

This year, we are seeking donations to support two key pieces of our programming:

1. Food Lab Supply Fund. The Food Lab (located in the Hagfors building) is a science lab that is stocked with cooking appliances and supplies. Campus Kitchen uses the Food Lab as a tool to build knowledge and community through food. We host Open Cooking Hours in the Food Lab three times a week, during which Augsburg and Cedar-Riverside community members can cook with one another and experiment with a variety of tools and ingredients. Campus Kitchen also hosts a variety of food-centered workshops for the community. Food workshops range from Cancer-Fighting Foods Cooking Demos to Jam-Making workshops. Your contributions to our Food Lab Supply Fund will help us keep the Food Lab stocked with ingredients so that students and community members can continue cooking and learning together!
2. Meals to supplement our food recovery efforts. Each week we serve approximately 160 meals to people in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. This part of our programming reduces food waste by recovering surplus food from University dining services, however we often need to purchase food to supplement based on needs in the community. Your donations will help us provide those meals!
