The Augsburg University Volleyball program is raising funds for both our annual travel to a tournament in different parts of the United States AND the International trip we take once every 3-4 years.
Each year our team travels to a different part of the country to compete against strong regionally and nationally ranked opponents. These trips not only introduce our program to coaches & committees that assist in making the AVCA National Rankings & NCAA bid decisions, but also provide a unique DIII experience to our team. Very few other DIII institutions travel each year by plane; we make this commitment to our student-athletes and hope to attract some of the best talent in part by their excitement for this promised experience.
Besides our regular season travel, we intend to take each student-athlete on one international trip. The Auggies have been to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in past years and are planning a new experience in January or May of 2024. While on the trip, the team competes in three matches against different National Teams, participates in different service-learning experiences unique to the country we are in, and finds new ways to challenge our team bonding and have fun. In order to provide the level of experience that makes these trips worth the cost and so incredibly special, we will spend the next two years fundraising. Every student-athlete that goes on the trip will contribute to their own trip as well, but donations make a HUGE impact in making this trip a possibility for everyone on the team.
