Ashland Delta Zetas today do not have the "house" that the Ashland DZs in the 60s, 70s, and some of the 80s enjoyed. That house is long gone, the college having torn them all down to make way for expanding the campus. Instead, each sorority is assigned a floor in Clark Hall, and the common room on that floor is designated as their chapter suite. The Delta Zeta Suite is on the 2nd floor. It includes a kitchen and a chapter lounge living room. The actual dorm rooms on the 2nd floor are designated for only DZs to live in.
The chapter suite functions as it did when we were all in college: gatherings, socializing, eating, studying, meetings, cookie baking, TV watching, pledge, and recruitment activities. They celebrate milestones here, and it is the space where they support each other. It showcases their framed composites, photos of their activities, and showcases their awards and accomplishments. Our original charter from 1965 hangs here. It's our sisters' home away from home.
Our Goal
The entire space would be gutted, including taking down the wall between the current kitchen and the chapter room. A new kitchen, including paint, lighting, appliances, and flooring, would be installed. New furnishings and lighting in the Chapter Room will make it more functional and attractive.
We have slated demolition to begin at the end of spring term 2025, with the renovation complete for a historic ribbon cutting during the August 29-31, 2025, Ashland Delta Zeta Reunion celebrating the chapter's 60th anniversary.

Our Plan
Our priority is to modernize the space, the kitchen being the top of the list. The wall between the kitchen and the chapter room will be removed, making way for an expansive open concept with a bar-stooled, highly functional peninsula. Fresh white cabinetry, open shelving, and new countertops will brighten the space. Delta Zeta's color palette of rose and green will be incorporated in a thoughtful and sophisticated way.
Next Step
We can do it, and we need your help!
In 2025, we will celebrate Delta Zeta's 60-year-long history at Ashland. What better way to commemorate our legacy than to elevate our campus home as part of that celebration?
Let's make this happen and enjoy the fruits of our efforts at the Ribbon Cutting for our 2025 Reunion.
