What is the Library Student Employee Scholarship?

Our scholarship program was established because library faculty and staff who work closely with the students realized that many students were struggling to stay in school and needed help. As part of our commitment to student success, we raise funds for library student scholarships of $1500 per year. Last year, we awarded 25 scholarships, most of which were funded by Library Advisory Board members and other generous donors. Since the program began, we have awarded over $252,000.00 to 179 students.

When asked about the scholarship's importance, one of last year's recipients said, "Library scholarships are crucial because they allow me to pursue my academic goals by providing financial support for my education and working in the library is a bonus! I go to class and I don't have to worry about picking up extra hours at work to make ends meet. This scholarship is one of the best parts of my academic experience at App State."
