Since its establishment in 2020, your support of the Mountaineer Emergency Fund has helped our students prevail through their most challenging times. Because of your generosity, students facing sudden financial emergencies have received the relief they need to stay in school and focus on their education.
As we celebrate Appalachian State Giving Day on March 26, we invite you to continue your support for the Mountaineer Emergency Fund.
The Need is Real
Students continue to face significant barriers that can hinder their academic success. The current top five needs for grants from the fund include:
- Housing: Students struggling to pay rent due to loss of income or facing the fear of eviction.
- Food Insecurity: Students who do not have enough money for food or are unsure where their next meal will come from.
- Medical/Mental Health: Support for long-term care or short-term needs like affording essential medication.
- Academic Concerns: Assistance with purchasing technology or books not covered by other programs.
- Natural or Environmental Disasters: Relief for students facing unexpected crises like fires or flooding.
Your kindness impacts students more than you know, providing them with a stepping stone along their journey. Please join us this Appalachian State Giving Day to ensure the Mountaineer spirit continues to prevail even in the most challenging times.
