What is Friends of the Library?
The Richard T. and Dorothy B. Barker Friends of the Library is dedicated to fostering cultural and intellectual engagement while enhancing the Libraries' resources and services. This fund allows us to continue our efforts in:
- Acquiring essential new materials for the Libraries' collections
- Offering year-round outreach programs for students, faculty, alumni, donors, and the community
- Hosting an annual reception honoring faculty who have published a book in the past year
- Welcoming international students with receptions each spring and fall
- Organizing special events, including visits from distinguished writers and scholars
