WeLead Team 2

WeLead successfully positions young professional women to serve in a political leadership position by gaining the confidence and skills to run for office or run a campaign through a combination of research, tactical skills, and best practices in Communications, Fundraising, Campaign Management and more. WeLead also provides an expansive and supportive network of expert practitioners and alumni.

Only with your help can the Women & Politics Institute continue to provide practical training to encourage more women to become involved in the political process, conduct more research, convene more special events, and ensure that more women have a seat at all of the tables, where the most important decisions are made.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Grace Freeman
Grace is honored to be a part of the 2024-25 WeLead Cohort! A career long advocate for women’s equity, she has long held the goal of running for office. It originally came about while she was working at United Way of Wyandotte County, advocating for the Kansas City, KS community and funding everything from Head Start to union organizing. This continued in her move to DC, working for the international women’s leadership nonprofit Vital Voices. Grace currently works at the National Women’s Law Center, fundraising to support universal childcare, health care access and Title IV.

Nike Falade
Nike Falade is grateful to be part of the WeLead2025 cohort. From a young age, she’s been dedicated to championing gender equity, particularly STEM, healthcare, and political representation. She got her professional start at Drug Policy Alliance and Pregnancy Justice as an intern, elevating reproductive justice through position statements, research dissemination, and coalition work. Nike studied public policy and screenwriting at the University of Southern California. She currently works at AnitaB.org, engaging academic, non-profit, and corporate partners toward advancing inclusion in the tech industry.
