The Sociology Program at Alma College offers students the opportunity to broaden their understanding of humanity by exploring social institutions and mastering the fundamentals of social research. With a wide range of electives in areas like aging, gender, women’s health, and family, students can tailor their academic path to their specific interests, from class and conflict to race and ethnic relations.
Through hands-on practicum experiences in agencies, schools, or businesses, students apply classroom knowledge to real-world settings. Your support will help expand these opportunities, providing resources that enable students to deepen their understanding of sociology and its impact on society, preparing them for careers in social research, advocacy, education, and beyond.
