Alma College’s English Program fosters critical thinking, empathy, and creativity by helping students explore diverse perspectives through reading and writing. Our students gain the ability to understand different cultures, time periods, and viewpoints, while developing the skills to articulate their own ideas and emotions effectively. Through workshops and composition, students hone their writing in various genres, including poetry and prose.
Beyond the classroom, students have the unique opportunity to engage in immersive Spring Term courses, traveling to locations like England and Greece to explore how literature has shaped societies both modern and ancient.
Your support will enhance these opportunities, providing students with the resources to continue developing their writing skills and expanding their global understanding.
