Heedum Practice Field Turf Project

A new field for the future of Midland athletics...

Midland University is investing in the future of its student-athletes with the construction of a new artificial turf practice field located north of Hopkins Gymnasium. This on-campus facility will provide a dedicated training space designed to meet the growing demands of Midland Athletics.

With 33 varsity sports and 977 student-athletes, Midland has the largest athletic department in Nebraska. Currently, all practices and competitions share one outdoor turf field, which is also used by others in the community, creating significant scheduling challenges and limiting training opportunities.
This new field will:

+ Alleviate scheduling conflicts for field sports, eliminating very early morning or late
night practices. It will also benefit general class scheduling for all students.
+ Provide additional, consistent practice space
+ Enhance the daily training experience for all student-athletes
+ Keep practices conveniently located on campus
