About

Bringing Back the Pep to Capital!

This fall, Capital University is bringing back a tradition that hasn't been heard on campus in more than two decades: the return of the Capital Pep Band.

Designed to energize athletic events and connect students across majors, the Pep Band will perform at home football games, select athletic contests, and campus celebrations. Housed within Capital’s Conservatory of Music, the ensemble builds on more than 100 years of musical excellence while creating something new and uniquely Capital.

Open to students from all academic programs (and accessible to faculty and staff who previously played an instrument) the Pep Band will be offered as a one-credit ensemble course with a goal of 25–30 members. Participating non-Conservatory students will be eligible for a $500 per-semester participation scholarship, helping make music-making accessible and inclusive.
