Today our ONE Lees-McRae community showed up mighty, and we want to make sure that no one misses their chance to Give Big. Give Bobcat.
To that end, we're extending our campaign until 1pm ET tomorrow (Friday, May 1) to see just how far we can get!
Get ready to rally, Bobcats! Every donor who makes a gift between now and the end of Giving Day at 1pm ET tomorrow will add an extra $100 donation to the Fund for Lees-McRae (up to $5,000).
It can add up:
*Make a gift of $15 to PEAK; unlock $100 for the Fund for Lees-McRae
*Make a gift of $40 to Bobcat Club; unlock $100 for the Fund for Lees-McRae
*Make a gift of $100 to the Fund for Lees-McRae; add $100 extra dollars (doubling your impact)

UNLOCKED: The Vice President's Faculty Challenge
Faculty continue to take part in Lees-McRae’s April Giving Month, where their engagement helps highlight what makes the college unique by participating in The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Pam Vesely's Challenge.
Participation, including making a gift, earns points, with the School achieving the highest participation rate recognized on April 30 and eligible for prizes.
Faculty contributions to the PEAK Experience have been matched dollar-for-dollar by Dr. Vesely — raising over $2,000 in gifts and challenge money for PEAK!

Experiential learning — it’s what we do.
At Lees-McRae, education doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our students are not just learners; they’re doers.
Students conduct research at the Elk Valley Preserve and Field Station. They manage Wildcat Lake during the summer. They perform surgery on fallen fawns at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. They build, design, and star in theatre performances. They investigate crime scenes, compete in mock trials, and intern at the FBI.
Lees-McRae students immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for real careers.
Now, the college is taking that commitment even further through the PEAK Experience.
PEAK — Preparation, Engagement, Aspiration, and Knowledge — is a campus-wide model designed to integrate academics, athletics, student life, and career readiness into one cohesive framework. It is not a single initiative, but a living commitment to ensuring every Bobcat graduates ready for what’s next.
Beginning with the Fall 2026 incoming class, every student will complete experiential intensive coursework — expanding summer opportunities and deepening real-world application in every field of study.
Your support propels students to:
- Research and pursue study outside of the classroom, like managing summer activities at Wildcat Lake
- Hands-on immersive and in-field experiences, like nursing wildlife back to health or running a summer program at a local ski resort
- Interning with high-profile companies and agencies, like the FBI
- Strengthened relationships with faculty, through co-design courses and study
- Real-world career readiness, with on-the-job training and skills developed, like those our students learn by facilitating a mock-crime scene, where students from almost every major learn and train together.
