December Financial Aid Challenge 2025

Gift Accounting has closed the books on our December campaign wen we're excited to announce our final total of 3,721 donors, which is 120% of our initial 3,100 donor goal! 

Thank you to all our match and challenge sponsors who encouraged alums and the broader Smith community to give to financial aid in December! Your support helps increase access for today's Smithies.

As of 12/31 at 11:45am, we met our goal with 3,118 donors!

We will be doing an upload of all gifts not made through this campaign page once all December gifts have been processed. The final tally for this campaign will be available in early January!

As of 12/31 at 11:45am, here are the standings for our class-specific challenges:

• Class of 1975 Match - 80% to goal with 24 additional donors needed
• Class of 1976 Match - 90% to goal with an additional $24,690 needed
• Class of 1977 Challenge - 60% to goal with an additional 59 donors needed

This December,  Deb Lans '71 is matching any gifts to the '71 Endowed Scholarship Fund $1 for every $2 donated up to $100,000!

As of Monday, December 29th, $76,950 has been donated to the '71 Endowed Scholarship fund. This means 44% of the match has been used and $56,524 of match funds remain.

Thanks to your generous contributions, we successfully met Cornelia Mendenhall Small ’66's 1,000 alum donor challenge, unlocking $100,000 for Smith financial aid! 🎉

• Class of 1976 Match - 64% to goal with an additional $89,565 needed

• Class of 1976 Match - 33% to goal with an additional $167,165 needed
• Class of 1977 Challenge - 18% to goal with an additional 122 donors needed

• Class of 1975 Match - 21% to goal with 98 additional donors needed
• Class of 1976 Match - 11% to goal with an additional $222,170 needed
• Class of 1977 Challenge - 10% to goal with an additional 134 donors needed
