Past speakers for the Palmer Lecture include award-winning novelist, playwright and essayist Silas House, former Poet Laureate Billy Collins, beloved Southern writer Lee Smith, novelist Crystal Wilkinson and former Kentucky Poet Laureate George Ella Lyon.
