About

*This crowdfunding campaign does not reflect all donations made to the Jeff Fink Go Fetch Wellness Memorial Fund Scholarship.

“Go Fetch Wellness was formed with the belief that the human-animal bond can be a transformative part of a whole-person approach to mental wellness. These scholarships will amplify what Jeff knew and started.
” – Prof. Philip Tedeschi

Support for the University of Denver’s Jeff Fink Go Fetch Wellness Memorial Fund Scholarship Fund advances innovative, ethical approaches to mental health and well‑being for people and animals alike by supporting professional education at the Institute for Human-Animal Connection in the Graduate School of Social Work.

Your gift can help provide scholarship support, helping students spend more time learning, exploring, and taking advantage of the opportunities available to them at DU.

Your contribution will:

  • Provide scholarships for human service professionals who want to learn how to ethically integrate canines into their mental health services
  • Support the development of free, public educational webinars on human-animal interaction topics (e.g. Emotional-Support Animals)
  • Help expand the number of human service professionals trained to ethically integrate animals into practice, creating more supportive, trauma-informed environments where clients feel safer, more engaged, and more willing to participate in treatment. [du.edu], [socialwork.du.edu]

  • Contribute to programs and research that improve lives across diverse settings, from mental health treatment centers to prison-based dog training programs, where participation has been associated with a 15% lower likelihood of returning to prison after release. [socialwork.du.edu]

  • Strengthen a growing movement that recognizes the interconnected well-being of humans, animals, and the environment, creating healthier communities for all.

Each donation will be strategically used to maximize the impact on human-animal interaction professionals working to support mental health.

When you support the University of Denver’s Jeff Fink Go Fetch Wellness Memorial Fund, you help expand the impact of human-animal interaction professionals dedicated to improving mental health and well-being. Your generosity also opens doors for DU students by helping to reduce financial barriers and create opportunities for meaningful learning, exploration, and professional growth. Together, we can empower the next generation of leaders while advancing the transformative power of the human-animal bond.

We Did It...and There’s Still Time!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, advocates, and champions, we are thrilled to share that we have officially exceeded our crowdfunding goal!

What began as an ambitious effort quickly became something even bigger, fueled by the enthusiasm of people who shared our story, made gifts, and encouraged others to join in. Your support has demonstrated the power of this community and the impact we can make together.

While we have reached our goal, the campaign remains open through Friday, giving us an exciting opportunity to build on this momentum. Every additional gift will help expand our impact and strengthen the work that Jeff loved.
