About

The Missouri S&T Multirotor Design Team develops students' technical, communication, and leadership skills through hands-on drone challenges and competitions. This year, our student-led team is focused on pushing the boundaries on what has been possible with UAS technology in the past.

Our team will be competing in three different international competitions in 2026, more than we have ever done before. Two of these are autonomous competitions, SUAS and IARC, where the focus is on natural disaster and storm response, and using drone swarms to detect mines modeled after ones that can be found in real-world mine fields. We will also be traveling to the Collegiate Drone Racing Championship again, where our manual pilots will get to showcase their flight skills on a national stage.

Beyond our competition efforts this year, our team has been developing several innovative drone applications. One of our projects is building a light show drone fleet, which we are planning to use to host wonderful shows at different campus events, and hopefully expanding to be shown all around Missouri. Additionally, we're collaborating with a research lab on campus to develop drones for agricultural applications. Finally, we're working to bring component manufacturing in-house, starting with a motor winder that will enable us to build our own motors.

We wouldn't be able to work on all of these groundbreaking projects without all of the wonderful support that we receive from our generous donors. Support Missouri S&T's Multirotor Design Team by making a gift today and help us #FlyTheFuture!

Updates
We've met our goal!

As of today, our crowdfunding campaign has officially ended. Thanks to all of your incredible support, we were able to raise $6,600, reaching both of our goals, and allowing us to fund all of our competition travel. We’re excited to represent both our university and our country at our international competitions.

We'll be posting updates about our competition progress on the campaign page, our (soon-to-be revamped) website, and all of our social media, which you can find on our website. We are very excited to showcase everything we've been working on this year!
