Wyoming Pathways from Prison is UW's Prison Education program, which provides bachelor's degrees to incarcerated individuals across Wyoming.
It is the belief of Pathways that education is a human, and incarcerated individuals have faced more barriers accessing it than most populations. Education is shown to be both a money saver in prisons—every $1 spent on prison education saves $3 on housing costs for repeat offenders—as well as their best chance of staying out of prison—people who receive any prison education have a 43% lower chance of returning to prison.
Perhaps most importantly, 95% of incarcerated individuals will be released and return to their communities. The education we provide is not merely for those in prison but for the future friends and neighbors we may have in our communities across the state. Help Pathways improve the future of the Wyoming community by investing in our future community members and supporting the program today!
