Bring WWII History to Life

We Need You to Help History Come Alive This October

From October 9 through 11, 2026, Veterans Park in Macomb, IL becomes a living World War II history experience where visitors can step into the past and learn through hands-on engagement.

WWII Comes to Macomb: A Living History Weekend will feature authentic reenactors, portraying soldiers of multiple Allied and Axis countries, historic vehicles, uniforms, and live demonstrations that bring history off the page and into the park. Designed for all ages, this free event will educate, inspire, and connect our community through shared history.

This event is made possible through a partnership between the Macomb Park District, the Veterans Resource Center at Western Illinois University, the Department of History at Western Illinois University, and the WIU Foundation.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the essential costs that make this immersive experience possible and keep the event free and accessible to the public.
