Your support helps transform WIU’s Academic Commons and University Libraries into a hub for creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning that prepares students for success beyond graduation.

A key focus of this project is the addition of Making Labs, where students will have access to 3D printing technology, design software, and other emerging tools that bring ideas to life. These resources give students practical, real-world experience that strengthens learning across disciplines.

Renovated study and collaboration spaces will also support academic success with flexible seating, digital display capabilities, and environments designed for group work and presentations, skills that are essential across most WIU courses.

By bringing students together from across majors and disciplines, the Academic Commons will foster collaboration, spark innovation, and build the confidence needed to lead in a rapidly changing world.
