The Missouri S&T Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is planning to send 12 members and one advisor to the National Conference in Boston, MA this upcoming November. This opportunity provides invaluable experiences, including networking with other SWE chapters, attending professional development sessions, participating in a large-scale career fair, and strengthening connections through a shared travel experience.
In the past, members who attended have secured internships and built lasting professional relationships with both peers and industry representatives. With this year’s conference being held in Boston, approximately 20 hours away, our goal is to raise funds that will help offset the travel and registration expenses for our student members.
While our trip cost is significantly higher, this campaign aims to raise $3,500 to reduce the financial burden to our students and make the opportunity more accessible.
Below is an overview of the major costs associated with sending our members to WE'26.
- Airfare: approximately $5,000
- Lodging: $7,500
- Conference Registration: $3,000
- Estimated cost per student: $1,200
