Bring Hope and Healing to Lebanon’s Displaced Families
Imagine being forced to flee your home with nothing but the clothes on your back. This is the heartbreaking reality for over 1.2 million people in Lebanon who now seek refuge in overcrowded shelters, schools, and community centers. These families are enduring unimaginable hardship, deprived of even the most basic necessities.
In response to this crisis, LAU and its medical centers have launched the Emergency Relief for Lebanon initiative, including two mobile clinics to bring hope and life-saving care to those who need it most. Our dedicated teams of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and medical staff are on the ground, delivering essential primary care, screenings, medications, mental health support, and distributing hygiene and first aid kits to displaced families.
With every visit, we witness the profound difference this care makes. Just last week, our teams treated 279 people and provided 300 families with hygiene and first aid kits. It costs $5,000 to fund a single mobile clinic mission, with every follow-up mission requiring between $2,500 and $3,000. Each of these missions serves around 100 people and supplies hygiene and first aid kits to 150 families.
LAU cannot continue without the help of its community. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to providing critical resources to those in need.
The Stoltzfus family’s support for LAU dates back to when William A. Stoltzfus served as president of the American Junior College for Women, leading its transformation into the Beirut College for Women. For decades, the “college on the hill” was a pioneer in women's education in the Middle East. Today, the Stoltzfus family's commitment lives on with the Chair of the Board of LAU, Philip Stoltzfus, and through the Stoltzfus Family Endowed Funds. Their ongoing support has the power to make an immediate, life-changing impact.
Join us in this urgent mission. Together, we can bring relief, hope, and healing to families who have lost so much. Let’s ensure that no one is left without the care they desperately need.
