This year's 1856 Challenge is led by our University Trustees, who aim to expand the impact of our collective generosity. To inspire this effort, we are thrilled to announce that our Trustees have committed to matching all St. Lawrence Fund - Greatest Need gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $300,000. If we reach 1,856 donors before 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 3, 2025, they will contribute an additional $100,000 to the St. Lawrence Fund to further support the cause.
Help us achieve our goals and unlock $400,000 to support our students and St. Lawrence.

St. Lawrence is excited to celebrate the inaugural Scarlet & Brown Day on April 3, 2025. On this day, we hope every Laurentian will do three things:
- Wear Scarlet & Brown with pride.
- Connect with a fellow Laurentian.
- Make a gift to support St. Lawrence!
Celebrate Worldwide!!
Laurentians everywhere can join in the Scarlet & Brown Day fun on April 3. Learn more about how you can participate!

RING THE CHAPEL BELLS WITH PRIDE, THE 1856 CHALLENGE HAS BEEN MET!
With a flurry of gifts down the stretch, alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students banded together to rally past the goal of 1,856 donors!
Our team is calculating the final tally, but one thing is crystal clear: St. Lawrence is fortunate to have such a loyal, generous community. You've collectively raised over $1,000,000 for our students, setting a new record for the most dollars raised in a SLU donor challenge!
To our University Trustees, the Alumni Executive Council, and each of our advocates who offered matches and challenges: Thank you for inspiring philanthropy around the world and for celebrating Scarlet & Brown Day with us! We are growing stronger because of Laurentians like you.
Meanwhile, across the country, over 600 Laurentians are connecting and celebrating St. Lawrence at regional events. While the 1856 Challenge may be over, itโs never too late to connect with a fellow Laurentian. Itโs what we do.
On behalf of a grateful campus tonight, thank you all, and Happy Scarlet & Brown Day!
