We believe that electric vehicles provide an excellent platform for students to pursue mechanical, electrical, computer, and systems engineering in depth. By working together to achieve this in time for competition, members also develop the communication and leadership skills necessary for success as an engineer. OEM’s mission is to create an educational environment where students will deepen their knowledge of engineering disciplines and develop their communication and leadership skills by designing and building a Formula SAE Electric vehicle.
Due to the high cost associated with running a Formula SAE team,
we are seeking funding in order to properly fulfill our mission statement. The
funding of our team is critical to providing an environment of in-depth
engineering, where students can oversee a complex and dynamic project from
beginning to end.
No matter the donation size, it will have a positive impact on the team:
- $10 pays for a stock aluminum bar, useful for components such as a steering shaft
- $50 pays for fasteners, allowing us to assemble critical components of our car
- $100 pays for harnessing accessories, allowing us to wire up our car safely and effectively
- $200 pays for a team bonding bowling event, allowing us to foster connections not just in the shop, but outside of it as well
- $500 pays for accumulator cooling fans and heatsinks, critical for keeping our battery within comfortable operating temperatures
- $1000 feeds our team at competition in Michigan
As a sign of gratitude, donations above $500 will receive an OEM cap, donations above $1000 will receive an OEM shirt, and donations above $2000 will receive an OEM jacket.
Regardless of how much you give, we are grateful for every donation. Thank you for your support, and for your help furthering our mission to provide an environment of learning and growth for all of us on the team.
