About

We are partnering with the Sean Salisbury Memorial Fund in his honor for Spartan Football:

Sean Salisbury was a four-year Castleton football team member, a linebacker, and a key special teams player throughout his career. A member of the first recruiting class in Spartan football history, Sean was on the inaugural team in 2009, registering a tackle in the Spartan's first-ever game and first victory over Anna Maria College. Sean would conclude his freshman campaign registering 24 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Sean played a variety of roles for the Spartans during his career. His versatility, knowledge of the game, and willingness to always put the team first made him an invaluable member of the Spartan's special teams and defensive units.

Sean’s senior season remains one of the most successful in program history. The Spartans finished the regular season with a 6-3 record and went 6-1 in conference play, earning them their first and only post-season berth to date in the ECAC Northwest Bowl versus St. John Fisher.

After his senior year, Sean joined the Spartans' coaching staff, serving as an offensive assistant coach for the 2013 season. He would go on to hold various coaching jobs, including joining the staff at Plymouth State and Western Connecticut, as he embarked on what was sure to be a long and fruitful coaching career.

"From the moment Sean and I arrived at Castleton, I watched Castleton push him toward achieving his dreams. After Sean graduated, he was a constant force in helping push others to achieve their dreams. This fund, in his name, will do wonders in helping young coaches like Sean achieve their dreams. On a personal note, as Sean's best friend and as a career college football coach, I can't think of a better way to honor his memory."

“Sean was a great man and bled 343 green. He was a hard worker, persistent, funny... and he loved his teammates. He was everything you would want in a teammate, and that translated into his career. He knew football and was a good man, which is exactly what you want your football coaches to do... teach football and how to be great men.”

We challenge you to join us in our mission to honor Sean's memory and contributions to this sport he loved. Every gift, large or small, matters, and your support means a great deal to our student-athletes.

Every $5 adds up, and 100% of the funds raised through this link go directly to support Castleton Football. Help show the team just how much the little things do add up. Through this generous support, we can consistently compete with joy, enthusiasm, and Spartan pride.

Thank you for your support in helping us achieve our goals on and off the field.
