Please consider making a gift to support the St. Thomas Speech and Debate Club, a campus organization that helps students cultivate and master their interpersonal communication and public speaking skills. One of the primary ways we display progress and improve is through attending multiple state-wide tournaments. Currently, we are paying out of pocket for most of the expenses needed for participation: hotel, travel and attendance and judging fees.
Your gift will ensure inclusivity and access for all members to participate in the fulfilling experience that comes with competing in speech and debate. Meets build confidence, help us grow and provide us with valuable skills that support our professional development. At tournaments, we engage with hundreds of students from across the country while cultivating the national community for public speaking and professional discourse. We also foster the creation of a welcoming environment that encourages and highlights the improvement of eloquence.
