This Giving Tuesday, give back and support our students through the Privateer Pantry!
Through this season of gratitude, join us in supporting the Privateer Pantry—our on-campus resource for students in need of food and basic necessities.
Did you know that approximately 29% of students at four-year colleges experience food insecurity? Thanks to your generosity, the Privateer Pantry keeps our students nourished and focused on their academic goals.
Your donation helps us:
🛒 Provide Food Support: Supply shelf-stable food, personal care items, and recipes.
📦 Expand Resources: Continue offering essential support throughout the academic year.
🤝 Strengthen Our Community: Ensure all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Our Mission
To provide currently enrolled UNO students who are experiencing food insecurity with supplemental food support. This means that we cannot provide ALL of the food a student may need, but our goal is to reduce hunger on campus.
In Fall 2024 the pantry has supported over 185 students, with 377 orders filled and over 3,700 food/personal care items given away.
“I want the people who give to see just how much of a difference it makes to a frugal college student on a budget. By supplementing my groceries with needed items from the pantry, I am regularly able to buy fresh produce and payoff school tuition faster.”
“Just want to reach out to thank the University of New Orleans Privateer Pantry for helping me to survive during the semester at UNO. I am so grateful for the program and wanted you to know that your support in giving me food, washing powder for my clothes, snacks, tissue and that can opener I needed so bad helped me get through school without thinking about survival, and I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t on campus to help students in need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
As we celebrate Thanksgiving and move into the season of giving, your support can ensure that no UNO student faces hunger this holiday season—or any season.
