On May 1 and 2, we invite all Pacific alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends to join together in supporting Pacific University during Boxer Giving Day!
For the next 36 hours, let's join together to generate support for Pacific programs and student success. Our goal is 519 donors, and you can help in these two easy ways:
BE COUNTED. Make your gift. Gifts of any amount to any fund count!
BE AN ADVOCATE. Sign up to become an Advocate and help us spread the word using #BoxersGiveBack. The more you share, the greater the impact you will have!

Boxer Giving Day was an incredible success thanks to the outpouring of support from alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends.
We hoped to see participation from 519 people. And you stepped up! Preliminary results show that 858 donors contributed a total of $234,891. That’s a ten percent increase in donor participation, and a 24 percent increase in gifts from our last giving day. (And, as of press time, we were still processing gifts that came in by phone, mail or in cash, so that’s an unofficial result.)
Challenges issued throughout the 36-hour fundraising blitz drew special gifts, including a $5,000 match from President Lesley Hallick for gifts from first-time donors, which resulted in gifts from 71 new donors to Pacific. Trustee Bob Barrett ’66 matched $5,000 for the College of Business, and Vice Provost and Executive Dean of the College of Health Professions Ann Barr-Gillespie and her husband, Peter, matched $25,000 for the College of Health Professions Diversity Scholarship. Honorary Trustee Ruth Burlingham gave $25,000 because our Boxer family rose to our participation challenge, meeting (and exceeding!) our goal of 519 donors. Deans Jenny Coyle, Sarah Phillips, Jim Goodrich and Leif Gustavson all played large roles as successful Boxer Giving Day Advocates, leveraging their social networks to bring in generous gifts and matches.
Your philanthropic support is what makes a Pacific experience possible for so many students. It provides scholarships for students, funds programs and faculty initiatives, creates world-class learning environments, and helps us innovate for tomorrow.
