Members of the Drury Family have asked how they can help financially at this time. Your gift to the Annual Drury Experience Fund is important to continue the level of scholarship support our students count on, and helps nearly every Drury student. The new COVID-19 Student Support Fund provides an additional, highly targeted way for donors to support Drury students who are experiencing an unanticipated financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In these challenging times, we ask you to make your gift to the Annual Drury Experience Fund and consider an additional gift to the COVID-19 Student Support Fund. The Annual Drury Experience Fund has long been the primary way donors can directly support student scholarships and financial aid.
If you have already made your annual gift, we give you our thanks and ask you to please consider contributing to the new COVID-19 Student Support Fund that will provide an additional, highly targeted way for you to support Drury students when they need it most.
The new COVID-19 Student Support Fund aids all current students to help bridge financial gaps in order to ensure they can continue their
studies and persist to graduation.
“Drury students are part of a broader university community that is passionate about seeing them succeed in the classroom and in life,” says Drury president Dr. Tim Cloyd. “Thank you to all the donors who supported Drury students and are making an extra effort at a time of great need."
You can also help us spread the word. Use the sharing buttons below the video to email your friends and share on social media. This is a great way to help students if you aren't able to help financially at this time.
The recently passed CARES Act includes several charitable tax provisions to encourage giving. These include:
- A new deduction for charitable donors who do not itemize when filing their tax returns. If you do not itemize but make a gift to charity, you will be allowed to take a special tax deduction, up to $300, to reduce your tax liability.
- An increase in the deduction limit up to 100% of a donor’s annual income for cash gifts (previously the deduction was capped at 60% of annual income). If you make a gift you will be able to deduct more this year.
These two changes provide a great opportunity to make an annual gift to Drury to support students while also seeing a tax benefit.
If you have questions about the campaign, or prefer to send a check, please contact Melanie Earl-Replogle, Director of Annual Giving and Donor Stewardship at 417-873-7444 or mearl@drury.edu. Donors to the Annual Drury Experience Fund (ADEF) over $100 that have not yet received the Drury custom socks can still receive them while supplies last. Donors giving $200 or more to ADEF qualify for two pairs as a thank you gift, if they have not already received them this fiscal year.
