A: Give a gift of $20.26 or more to the DU Food Pantry on 1DAY4DU and fill out the form on the post-payment screen. Name one of these charming, bushy-tailed creatures after yourself, someone you love or anything that makes your DU experience memorable — your go-to study spot, a favorite campus tradition or even an inside joke with friends. Go punny or heartfelt—the choice is yours.  

Names should be appropriate for the DU community, and we do reserve the right to review and decline any submissions that verge into R-rated territory :) 

Q: What does my gift support?  

A: Food insecurity affects millions of college students nationwide, including right here at DU. The DU Food Pantry offers weekly access to fresh and shelf-stable groceries for anyone with an active DU ID, ensuring students can focus on learning, not on where their next meal will come from. 

The Pantry is entirely donor-funded, and your contribution directly purchases high-demand items for our guests. Through our partnership with Food Bank of the Rockies, financial gifts go further helping us purchase fresh, usable food at a lower cost and reduce waste from expired physical donations. As the need grows, so does our commitment to meeting it, and we can't do it without you. 

Q: Do I have to make a minimum gift amount to be entered into the chance?  

A: $20.26 gives you the ability to bestow a moniker to one of campus’ nutty companions. 

Q: What about animal rights?  

A: Don’t worry, we’re not chasing our beloved campus squirrels trying to attach collars to them!  No animals will be harmed in the ceremonial naming!
