1. Expanding Field Experience Access and Equity 

Practical experience is the cornerstone of great teaching. Your support helps remove financial barriers so students can access diverse clinical placements and field experiences, including: 

• Transportation to Field Experiences: Funds will directly offset transportation costs, ensuring all students can reach their student teaching and observation sites locally and regionally. 

• Student Teaching Abroad: Support a new generation of global citizens by helping to fund student travel, housing, and program fees for international student teaching placements. 

• Empowering Preservice Teachers to Tutor At-Risk Students in Mathematics: Resources such as materials, supplies, and dedicated time to support preservice teachers in providing math tutoring to at-risk students at a community-based school. 

2. Essential Professional Development & Training 

We equip our students with skills that go beyond traditional content knowledge to meet the holistic needs of today’s learners: 

• Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training: Your gift will subsidize the cost of this critical training, ensuring all future educators are prepared to recognize and respond to mental health challenges in schools. 

• Assistance with School Clearances: Help alleviate financial pressure on our students by offsetting the required costs for mandatory background checks and clearances, which can be a significant barrier to entering the field. 

3. Support for Scholarly & Career Advancement 

We encourage our students to be leaders and researchers from day one: 

• Attending and Presenting at Educational Conferences: Funds will help students cover registration fees, travel, and lodging to present their research alongside national leaders in education. 

• Emergency Fund: This vital fund provides a safety net for students facing unforeseen financial crises, helping cover essential costs like books, technology, or even graduation regalia, keeping them on the path to program completion.
