I am so grateful to be receiving the VSCC Alumni Scholarship. This largely impacts me personally as a young college student, as it lifts much of the financial burden of balancing nursing school and working. It truly gives me peace of mind and allows me to put all my efforts into achieving the best possible grades I can so that I may not only excel as a nurse, but also build upon nursing to one day get into Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist school. The thought of having to work a shift or two a week to support myself and study for school simultaneously weighed down on me quite a bit, and it feels amazing that I have extra help from this scholarship. I am extremely excited to start nursing school this fall semester, and even more encouraged to do the absolute best that I can.
