I would like to express my true gratitude to have been chosen to receive a Foundation Scholarship. This award will help relieve a big part of the financial burden with purchasing my books and school supplies that will be needed. This is not only a monetary gift but also a gift for my future. I worked in an Assisted Living Facility on the memory care side for many years and in that time I realized that I wanted to become a hospice nurse. Every Hospice nurse I have ever met were truly like Angels to me and I knew I would do whatever it takes to become one of them.

I chose Volunteer State Community College for my medical journey because of its excellence in professors and programs. My experience has been nothing but extraordinary! My passion is in Geriatrics and Hospice care, and I am confident I will acquire all skills needed to succeed. Volunteer State Community College is not a big school where you get lost in a sea of students. I love how I can walk down the hallway, and the professors actually smile and say hi to you when they are passing by. Vol State makes sure you are taken of.
