Being a cheerleader at Hanover has by far been the best part of my college experience.  The team has provided an enduring family that is there for every success pushing me to be the best version or myself, but also every hardship that comes with college and athleticism whether it is injury, heartbreak, or homesickness.  I have never had so much fun and laughs with a group of amazing women.  When I came to college, I was extremely shy and afraid to order my own food and now I call chants and perform in front of hundreds of people.  The Hanover College cheerleading program lives out all the values and mission of Hanover preparing us to be life-ling learners, have a growth-mindset, and to be better citizens.  The program has also allowed us to build a bridge between the college and the Jefferson County community, which I have grown to love, through the fun adventures we have had at the pumpkin patch, painting ornaments, or volunteering for events such as Girls on the Run or festivities in the community.  It is an honor to be a part of something greater than yourself, something that will long outlive your college career and it is truly amazing to call myself a member of the Hanover College Cheerleading program.
